Why the name endures
Six majors gave Faldo an unusually precise view of what a golf hole should ask, and his design practice reflects it: measured, strategic layouts where position matters more than distance. Much of his work sits in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Design principles
- Angles reward the thinking player
- Shot values consistent from tee to green
- Recovery routes for the less accomplished golfer
